The Three Distinct Zones of Tabla Sound: 70 Hz - 200 Hz, 200 - 2000 Hz - 2500 Hz, 2500 Hz - 7000 Hz

After analyzing the All India Radio's Document (Research Department, All India Radio, New Delhi, Jan 30 1964)  the frequency spectrum of Tabla sound can be classified into three distinct zones. Frequency range from 70 Hz to 200 Hz, from 200 Hz to 2000 Hz and 2500 Hz to 7000 Hz or above.

The considerable part of this is frequency range from 70 to 200 Hz forms the most important part. It adds a realistic image to the Tabla sound recording when applied in equalization. The higher range from 2.5 Hz to 7000 Hz and above has also its significance adding realistic picture to the sound when equalized. But there are definitely frequencies above 7000 which adds value to the recording. While cutting the mid frequencies and boosting the 70 Hz to 200 Hz and the frequency range from 7000 Hz  to 16000 Hz gave better sound equalization, specially when working on Solo Tabla Rhythms.
